Exploring restaurants in different areas of the city and getting a taste for each
Nelson the Seagull
315 Carrall St. Vancouver, BC
A rustic bakery that serves the best house made sourdough with mounds of avocado… TO. DIE. FOR. I added the poached eggs as well and ordered a latte to go with it. Three days in a row. YEP. This is a must for a morning in Gastown.

Lucky Taco
1685 Yew St. Vancouver, BC
Lucky Taco is tucked on a side street near Kitsilano Beach. The beach + tacos is a combo I like. The vibe is so fun and inviting with all the color. Everything about this place is vibrant from the walls to the food to the servers. We had the best experience dining here, which felt more like a hangout with new friends.
Come here hungry because you’ll want to try several things:
- The Corn on the Cob which is dressed with mayo, queso fresco, pico de gallo, and cilantro.
- Chips and guac. I know that goes without saying but their house made chips are so crunchy and good.
- Baja Pescado Taco – Battered cod, chipotle mayo, cilantro, pico de gallo.

Tacofino
15 W Cordova St. Vancouver, BC
A taco bar on one side and burrito bar on the other! The layout of this restaurant is really unique and I’m digging it. Tacofino is a hot spot known for the best tacos in Vancouver. We went for the take-out burritos near the street exit and they were amazing!

49th Parallel Coffee Roasters & Lucky’s Doughnuts
2198 W 4th Ave. Vancouver, BC
One of the most aesthetically pleasing coffee shops I have been to. The little blue cups, white table tops, and open glass windows create a beautiful, modern beachy vibe. I’m not traditionally a doughnut person, but I can’t say “no” to chocolate. Lucky’s Doughnuts are hands down the best gourmet doughnuts I’ve ever had. (Sorry, Blue Star)
Next time, I could take or leave the coffee, however, the doughnuts are a YES.

Nicli Antica Pizzeria
62 E Cordova St. Vancouver, BC
This modern pizzeria sits in the streets of Gastown. It’s a perfect happy hour date. $10 and you get a small margherita pizza + a glass of beer or wine! The pizza comes uncut and they provide pizza scissors! I get too excited about things like this.

Happy eating!
